You May be thinking, if I don't need a Building Consent, why do I need a plan?

Your Home is your biggest Investment, and any Building Work you do is going to cost you more than a trip to Aussie, to protect your investment you want to make sure any Building Work is done right the first time, whether paying others to do the work or giving the good old Kiwi Do it Yourself a go, the best start is to have a Plan, and that is where I can help.

The idea behind this website is to help the Kiwi Home and building owner make informed decisions, offer my knowledge and to complement the MBIE information, around Building Work that is Exempt from needing a Building Consent.

I've been in the Architectural Design industry in N.Z. for 25 years, I'm a current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), Design 2, and have been on the end of the tools for a number of D.I.Y. projects such as, building a 6mx6m deck, renovating an ensuite, toilet and walk in robe, doing the demolition, alter framing, gib install and gibstopping, painting, wall papering, rewire (leaving the final connection to the switchboard to an electrician and the plumbing work to the plumber ), so I plan to approach this website from both a technical plus practical point of view.
